With our Stay Fast Guarantee, we don't just guarantee your broadband speeds; we also constantly check and optimise them. So you'll get reliable broadband speeds all day, every day.
It's just one of the things we do, because we know broadband is so much better when you don't have to worry about it.
To qualify, you need to have ordered BT Broadband or renewed your BT Broadband contract since 1 March 2019.
What do you get?
A personalised speed guarantee
We'll give you a speed guarantee for your home.
Personal line check
When you join BT or renew your contract, we'll let you know if we think your speeds can be improved. And we'll send out an engineer if you need one.
Expert support
If your speeds fall below what you've been quoted, our UK- and Ireland-based speed experts are on hand to get things back to normal as soon as possible. If you want, you can check your broadband yourself by using our automated tester.
How does the guarantee work?
When you join BT or renew your contract, we’ll set up your Stay Fast Guarantee based on your broadband speeds.
If we detect a problem, we may reset your hub remotely — you won’t need to do a thing. If there’s a bigger issue, we’ll work out the best solution and get in touch.
You can check your broadband speed at any time using our automated tester. If needed, we’ll run further checks to resolve the issue and arrange an engineer visit.
If your speeds aren’t back to normal within 30 days, we’ll give you £20 back on a virtual reward card. You can also choose to leave your contract without paying an early cancellation fee.
How do I test my speed?
The Stay Fast Guarantee covers the speed from the network to your BT Hub. It does not include the speed from the hub to devices in your home.
We measure the throughput speed to your hub — the speed at which data is actually sent and received. This reflects what you experience when using your broadband at home.
To get an accurate result, you must use your BT Hub and our speed tester. If you need help, call us on 0330 123 4150.
When you run the test, we’ll also check for any underlying faults. You may be asked to switch off anything using a lot of data, such as ultra‑high‑definition TV streaming, so we can clearly assess your broadband’s performance.
You must complete all fault checks before you can claim under the Stay Fast Guarantee. If the test shows a more serious issue, we may need to arrange an engineer visit.
