4G Calling and BT Mobile

4G Calling means that when you make or receive a phone call, your phone will stay on 4G so your internet doesn't slow down. That means you can use data at 4G speeds even when you're on a call. Sounds simple, but you'd be surprised how few mobile providers will let you do this.

Most phones have 4G Calling turned on by default. If it’s off, turn it on in your phone’s settings. Look for options like “VoLTE” or “4G Calling”.

Does 4G Calling cost extra?
No, it’s included in your plan.

Can I use 4G Calling abroad?
No, it only works in the UK.

What if I can’t use 4G Calling?
If 4G Calling isn’t available, your phone will switch to 3G or 2G.

With 4G Calling, your calls go over the 4G network, which makes them crystal clear between compatible phones. It's available across the whole of BT's 4G network

If you're using Wi-Fi Calling, 4G Calling means your calls will seamlessly hand over between Wi-Fi and 4G.
